2.      HAMBURG - BEATLEMANIA

At long last, Hamburg has its very own meeting point for all Beatles fans,
right next to the Beatles Square.
Not only is the exhibition a "hit" in itself, but so are the "special
events". Klaus Voormann has set the pace with his documentation to
"A Sideman’s Journey":  The Star Lounge on the third floor is not only
the perfect location for parties, but it is also a great cinema.
Therefore, in 2010, the exhibition center is going to offer its clients
movie presentations on a regular basis.
Beatlemania, having been able to successfully demonstrate its suitability
as a unique concert location through the appearances of Australian trio
"The Living End" and  Icelandic singer/songerwriter Helgi Jonsson in the
autumn of 2009, will continue to present live music and autograph sessions.
But there will also be literary features, a series offically kicked off
on 27 March by a presentation of the book of  "Yeahsterday".

In order not to let this much aural and visual diversity get in the
way of your culinary needs, starting in February the YEAH!-Café will
add an opulent Sunday brunch to its current menu . Thus, you will be able
to recharge your batteries before or or after your exhibition visit,
or even without visiting the exhibition - as both the YEAH!-Café and
the shop are accessible without an exhibition ticket.
By the way, "FAB FOUR" is the code word for a special offer:
groups of 4 visiting the exhibition until 1 March 2010 will receive
a 40% discount at the box office provided they enter "FAB FOUR" while
booking online or state this code at the ticket counter!

3.       BIELEFELD - BEAT-CLUB 66

On 6 February, Bielefeld is going to see a truly sensational musical event
in an appearance by the Pete Best Band from Liverpool. The likeable first
Beatles drummer returns there by public demand following his monumental
success in March 2007. Rock’n’Roll is supplied for the occasion by local
heroes "The Rock-A-Teers" who are veterans of three tours of England and
several appearances in France.
venue: HOT Schildesche, Ringenbergstr, 33611 Bielefeld

4.      HAMBURG - LOGO

Also on 6 February, Hamburg’s "loudest sauna" will be the venue of a
concert by "The Beattells" featuring the hits of the Fab Four.
These seasoned musicians have soaked up the Beatles' hits to a
remarkable degree. They are the guarantee for a starry night of
musical time travel.

5.      BERLIN – ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE

On the occasion of the Beatles' 50th anniversary, Estrel Hotel in Berlin
is going to present the Beatles musical of "All You Need Is Love!"
from 30 June thru 22 August.
In the course of a moving musical biography all the significant steps
of the most successful band of all time on their way to world fame are
being recalled: from their first appearances in the Hamburg clubs until
their final concert played together on the rooftop of a London office
building.
With songs such as "Help", "Love me do", "Yesterday" or "Hey Jude" the
American band "Twist & Shout" reenacts the legendary Mop Tops on stage
in a musically as well as optically surprisingly authentic manner which
rekindles the exact atmosphere with which the Beatles in the past
had mesmerized the masses.
30 June – 22 August 2010 Estrel Festival Center,
Wednesday to Saturday 20.30 Uhr / Sunday 19.00 Uhr
Ticket-Hotline: 030 / 6831-6831

legend Dr. Feelgood with their power blues rock.

7.       ITZEHOE – 1000 APPLICATIONS

From 3 October until 31 December 2009, bands and solo artists from the
fields of  rock/pop had the opportunity to apply for participation in the
2010/2011 John Lennon Talent Award.
Approximately 1,000 acts have done just that. Twelve of them will reach
the support program and be entitled to call themselves JLTA-award winners.
They may expect to be submitted to a multi-facetted training program,
covering a.o. the following questions:
How will I be able to offer the audience an interesting show? How do I
write extremely good songs? What needs to be observed in the music
industry both legally and economically? How can I present myself
successfully off-stage, e.g. during an interview? How do I go about
building a solid fan-base? Ten of the twelve award-winning acts will
embark on a contest-tour in the spring of 2011, competing for the
winner's crown and the trophy of the 2010/2011 John Lennon Talent Award!
Under professional conditions they will then be able to show what
they have learned in the course of the previous twelve months.
The tour will lead them to Hamburg, Berlin, Munich and to the finals in Kiel.

8.       WEB - TIP

To early Star-Club fans Roy Young has become unforgettable as the "English
Little Richard". He was the keyboarder of the Beat Brothers and Star-Combo,
he played with Cliff Bennett & The Rebel Rousers, recorded several albums
with his own Roy Young Band, and was later to become one of David Bowie's
sidemen. Roy Young has lived for some time in the USA and in Canada.
Meanwhile, he has returned to his homeland of England, where he has resumed
playing  live concerts. Besides rare photos and interesting background
information, naturally also his concert dates can be found on his website.
